The Leadership Matters Course

The Leadership Matters Course is run by the International Training Alliance. World Horizons is a member of this ministry partnership for the purposes of providing quality leadership training for mission team members and for leaders of the church in the developing world. Other partners in the Alliance include Operation Mobilization, Christian & Missionary Alliance, Global Partners and Freewill Baptist International Missions. Personnel from Wycliffe Bible Translators are also involved in the program.

Training Program 2011

The course is run in various locations around the world, hosted by member ministries of the Alliance. It is a two week intensive course in leadership skills. The course is built around seven Biblical principles for leadership. The leader should:

  • Have a clear God given vision;
  • Be an effective communicator;
  • Know how to shepherd (care for) his staff;
  • Have professional management in place;
  • Be ongoing as a learner;
  • Know how to endure pain;
  • and work under the anointing of the Spirit of God.

World Horizons uses this course as a primary method of leadership training for its staff.
